Responsibilities of Visitors to the Injinoo Land
Visitors are asked to keep in mind a few matters which will ensure that the Injinoo environment is protected and its amenity maintained.
The first request is use common sense when travelling - although the area is remote there are many others travelling the same tracks as you and there will be many thousands following. Leave the land in as pristine a state as possible.
In an effort to keep rubbish out of Cape York we ask you to:
- take as much as possible back with you
- put glass in the drum marked for glass (please break it in the drum)
- put aluminium cans and foil (crushed) into the drum marked for aluminium
- take as much plastic home with you as possible and burn the rest
- burn paper waste in a pit.
Use common sense with regard to any fire - there is a fire management plan underway and a serious effort is being made to control fires which easily get out of hand during the dry season.
