Responsibilities of Visitors to the Injinoo Land

Visitors are asked to keep in mind a few matters which will ensure that the Injinoo environment is protected and its amenity maintained.

The first request is use common sense when travelling - although the area is remote there are many others travelling the same tracks as you and there will be many thousands following. Leave the land in as pristine a state as possible.

In an effort to keep rubbish out of Cape York we ask you to:

take as much as possible back with you
put glass in the drum marked for glass (please break it in the drum)
put aluminium cans and foil (crushed) into the drum marked for aluminium
take as much plastic home with you as possible and burn the rest
burn paper waste in a pit.

Use common sense with regard to any fire - there is a fire management plan underway and a serious effort is being made to control fires which easily get out of hand during the dry season.
